Among other things, Dhroviani is also known for its large number of shrines. There are over fifteen churches, both in the Upper Dhroviani and Lower Dhroviani. Three of them are dedicated to St. Nicholas, and two of them have managed to ‘resist’ the whirlwind of times as well as the destructive hand of an atheistic regime.

The church of St. Nicholas of Lower Dhroviani was a monasterial church; this is confirmed by the ruins of the entrance on the left which lead to the cells of the monks.

The church consists of a central temple, the internal and the external narthex which follow each other. On the side walls, based on wooden stakes, circular arches extend outwards to complete three consecutive domes. On the external side, the arches end in three pointed angles.

The building date of the church goes as far back as the 16th century.
